For most of my life, I have admired the actor, Marlon Brando. His work moves my heart and captives my imagination. In this interview, the iconic television host, Ed Sullivan interviews him.  I believe, it is such a remarkable and memorable interview, based on the insights that are shared about Mr. Brando’s life and his perspective on acting as engaging art form that connects to the comedic art form.  I was particularly struck by his response to this question: Mr. Sullivan:  “Now when you’re observing them, are you conscious that there’s a very close kinship between the art of the comic and the art of the dramatic star?  Mr. Brando:  “Yes, as a matter of fact, I think that there’s more than a direct correlation between the two, I think that they are identically congruent. … For instance, I feel that both of them must draw on reality and have reality as a base, otherwise they’d simply lose any effectiveness they might’ve, not any, but they get the greatest degree of effectiveness from their, the directness with which they relate to reality.”
