When I was a child, the music of Fats Domino was dearly loved by the adults around me.  I can still remember the humming of  “Blueberry Hill.”   “Blueberry Hill” was just one of Fats Domino’s many hit songs that seemed to take the adults back to their younger days.

SAM COOKE

When I as a child, “You Send Me” and “Bring It On Home” were two Sam Cooke songs that our elders really enjoyed.   I did not appreciate the music and life of Sam Cooke until many years had passed.  His musicial legacy and enterpreneutial spirit are definitely worthy of admiration.  

BROOK BENTON & DINAH WASHINGTON

“Think Twice” and “Teach Me Tonight” were popular songs that  the adults enjoyed during my childhood.  In my adulthood, I heard and fell in love with “You’ve Got What It Takes” and “It’s A Rockin’ Good Way.”

Brook Benton had a wonderful distinct way of delivering a song.  “Think Twice” and “It’s Just A Matter of Time” are only two of his well known hit songs that were popular during my early years.  

DINAH WASHINGTON

Dinah Washington was a musical diva in her time.   Her amazing voice and lavish lifestyle gave her celebrity status.  Her many hits songs were loved by high and low alike.    

ETTA JAMES

Etta James had a unique voice and style.  The love ballad, “At Last” was made famous by Ms. James.   “I’d Rather Be Blind” was another song, that was a favorite in my early years, it was also made popular by Ms James.
